Actuarial Senior Manager, Asia Valuation Shared Services

About the role

Manulife is looking for an Actuarial Senior Manager to join its Asia Valuation Shared Services (VSSC) team within the MGS Actuarial function. The team, established in 2012, is an actuarial centre of excellence with over 200 staff, covering valuation, liability and asset modelling, experience analytics, pricing and more. The position is based at UP Ayala Technohub in Quezon City on a hybrid setup (3 days a week onsite).

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate and implement model changes (basis changes, new products, model enhancements) into production models following Model Change Management guidelines.
• Monitor and manage quarterly controls such as reserve movement analysis, audit logs, inclusion controls and upstream report validation for Source of Earnings, New Business Embedded Value and Canadian/Local capital.
• Lead and develop a team of actuarial staff, ensuring high-quality work, and provide documentation and training to colleagues.
• Support country business units with annual and ad hoc projects such as Economic Capital, Inforce Embedded Value and Basis Changes.
• Identify and implement solutions to improve VSSC tools, processes and the general framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field.
• At least 10 years of actuarial work experience in insurance or financial services.
• Associate designation in a recognised actuarial body (SOA, ASP) with meaningful progress towards Fellowship.
• Demonstrated experience independently modelling and analysing actuarial financial metrics.
• Amenable to working in UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) and to a hybrid arrangement of 3 days a week onsite.

Required skills

• Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Access)
• GGY AXIS, SQL, QlikView, Python or similar programs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong prioritisation and attention to detail
