Accountant – Global Fixed Assets

About the role

The Fixed Assets Accountant supports Johnson & Johnson’s finance function by maintaining accurate records of the company’s fixed assets and ensuring proper depreciation and reporting. This entry‑level position works closely with project teams and auditors to safeguard asset data and comply with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record newly acquired and disposed fixed assets in the accounting system.
• Track and compile project costs in fixed‑asset accounts and close them out upon project completion.
• Reconcile the fixed‑asset subsidiary ledger with the general‑ledger summary.
• Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets and update accumulated‑depreciation schedules.
• Perform asset retirement obligation calculations where applicable.
• Support periodic reviews of intangible‑asset impairments.
• Initiate and conduct physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
• Prepare fixed‑asset audit schedules and collaborate with external auditors.
• Monitor fixed‑asset spending against the capital budget and management authorizations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 1‑2 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Solid understanding of fixed‑asset accounting and general‑ledger processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
