US Tax Compliance Specialist – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a US Tax Compliance Specialist to join our remote team. The role supports our clients in the cannabis industry by ensuring accurate and timely tax filings and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process tax payments on behalf of clients.
• Handle entity formation, dissolutions, changes, and SOS filings.
• Prepare and file sales tax and cannabis excise returns, including CDTFA reporting.
• Set up and maintain CDTFA access for clients.
• Complete local tax filings as required.
• Document work papers for each filing and communicate with taxing agencies.
• Educate clients on state and local tax compliance.
• Perform additional administrative and compliance tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years experience with SOS filings, sales tax filing, and CDTFA reporting.
• Familiarity with US tax laws, regulations, and deadlines.
• Understanding of accounting and tax issues in the cannabis sector.
• Solution‑oriented mindset with strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent organization, time‑management and attention to detail.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
