Technician I

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking a Technician I to provide technical support for test operations. The role ensures test equipment is ready for production, maintains equipment health, and contributes to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and verify test equipment (testers, contactors/pins, hardware handlers) before production runs.
• Implement and follow a preventive maintenance (PM) program for all test assets.
• Support equipment qualification, machine buy‑off, and compliance with operational standards.
• Analyze production data, identify root causes, and execute corrective and preventive actions to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to optimize equipment performance metrics such as utilization, MTBF/MTTR, availability, and yield.
• Initiate equipment modifications and improvements based on data‑driven insights.
