Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer (Part‑Time, Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a senior systems and infrastructure engineer to manage and support both our internal and client environments. The role is fully remote, part‑time (10‑15 hours per week) and requires availability during Australian business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Maintain virtualised, on‑premise infrastructure including networking, storage and backup systems.
• Perform patching, upgrades, system hardening and disaster‑recovery activities.
• Manage cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments, supporting migrations, optimisation and monitoring.
• Implement cloud security controls, identity and access management and compliance with Essential Eight and ISO 27001.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing and provide secure network connectivity.
• Assist with security monitoring, endpoint protection, SIEM integration and vulnerability remediation.
• Provide remote technical support to clients, coordinate on‑site work when required and keep documentation up to date.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in systems administration and infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
• Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS) and hybrid deployments.
• Ability to work independently, remotely and during AEST/AEDT business hours.
• Good communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
