QS Unit Manager

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Unit Manager will lead a team of QS professionals in delivering cost‑controlled construction projects for both local and Singapore assignments. Based in Manila, the role supports the client, coordinates with contractors and ensures accurate cost reporting and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the client in overseeing quantity surveying activities on assigned projects in the Philippines and Singapore.
• Maintain and update cost databases for both markets.
• Coordinate communication among project teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
• Facilitate progress meetings, manage weekly and monthly progress claims, and document actions and decisions.
• Identify project changes, evaluate contractual risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Monitor project progress, flag claim‑related issues, and propose schedule or strategy adjustments.
• Prepare regular status reports, valuations, final accounts and ensure compliance with legal and quality standards.
• Mentor junior surveyors and manage the QS team to deliver high‑quality, timely outputs.
• Support procurement strategies, risk analysis, cost control and tender costing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction project management or a similar QS role.
• Strong organizational, multitasking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
• Willingness to work on a project‑base contract and be stationed in Manila.
