Product Engineer I

About the role

Lear Corporation is seeking a Product Engineer I to design and develop the new FlexAir™ sustainable comfort padding system. The role combines high‑fidelity CAD modeling, prototype testing, and iterative design to deliver high‑performance products for global markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design new FlexAir product components and create detailed CAD models, technical specifications, and procedural guidelines.
• Build and test prototypes, using predictive modeling to align digital data with physical results.
• Lead product performance testing, conduct root‑cause analysis on failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with US FlexAir and Innovation teams to refine DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes.
• Travel locally and internationally to support project milestones and ensure successful product launch.

Required profile

• Experienced Professional (P2) with practical knowledge gained through advanced education and relevant work experience.
• Ability to work independently with general supervision and solve complex engineering problems.
• Strong communication skills to influence peers and convey technical facts, policies, and practices.
