Procurement Category Manager – Mining & Heavy Industry

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for a leading gold mining operation in Western Australia. The role is fully remote, working on Perth business hours, and focuses on delivering commercial value across mining and heavy‑industry procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing and category management plans aligned with business objectives.
• Manage end‑to‑end tender, RFQ/RFP and supplier pre‑qualification processes for operational, project and equipment purchases.
• Lead contract negotiations for new agreements, renewals, amendments and extensions, working with legal and operational stakeholders.
• Conduct advanced spend analysis, prepare procurement dashboards and provide data‑driven insights.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and governance, and monitor supplier performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of procurement/category management experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Extensive experience negotiating contracts, renewals and amendments.
• 4+ years leading tender submissions from start to finish.
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing and spend analysis.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel – advanced functions, pivot tables, pricing analysis and reporting.
• SAP ERP / procurement systems – advanced knowledge.
• Microsoft Office Suite – advanced knowledge.

What we offer

• Monthly salary between 80,000 PHP and 120,000 PHP.
