Operator I – Production Operations

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking an Operator I to ensure smooth operation of assigned production areas or machines, meet capacity targets, and deliver high‑quality products. The role is integral to maintaining line performance and supporting the company’s commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain assigned area/machine to run efficiently, achieve required capacity, and produce high‑quality output.
• Follow operational specifications and SOPs, and hand‑off line status between shifts.
• Prevent quality issues, aiming for zero lot rejection, and ensure certification badges are up to date.
• Achieve output targets while meeting utilization and capacity parameters.
• Escalate any line problems to the Supervisor or Lead Operator promptly.
• Set up and isolate stations, handling minor set‑up or machine issues in line with OCAP requirements.
• Record machine downtime, lot history, and transaction details in real time on MES/R8 for traceability.
• Perform MSC/5S activities as required and report attendance issues to the supervisor.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to follow written instructions and standard operating procedures.
