Nurse AI Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to join SME Careers as a remote, hourly contractor. In this position you will act as a Subject Matter Expert, reviewing AI‑generated nursing responses, creating high‑quality clinical content, and providing detailed feedback to improve AI reasoning and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI training content by writing detailed prompts and gold‑standard answers across nursing topics such as assessment, triage, medication safety, patient education, infection control, and care planning.
• Evaluate and rank AI‑generated responses, ensuring accuracy, clarity, safety, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Test AI outputs for potential inaccuracies, unsafe guidance, and bias, and validate reliability across diverse use cases.

Required profile

• Active RN licensure (or equivalent nursing qualification) in at least one jurisdiction.
• 3‑5+ years of professional nursing experience in clinical or community settings.
• Strong clinical assessment, vital‑sign interpretation, red‑flag recognition, escalation pathways, and safe handoff skills.
• Excellent attention to detail for fact‑checking and identifying unsafe assumptions.
• Minimum C1 English proficiency and ability to work independently across time zones.
