Middle School History Teacher

About the role

Bancroft School, an independent PreK‑12 day school in Worcester, Massachusetts, is seeking a collaborative Middle School History teacher for the 2026‑2027 academic year. The position involves teaching across all middle‑school grades and contributing to the school’s inquiry‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 4 to 5 sections of History courses, handling planning, instruction, and assessment.
• Serve as an advisor and participate in a collaborative grade‑level team to support students’ social and emotional growth.
• Engage in Middle School life through club leadership, house sponsorship, and other extracurricular activities.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to design interdisciplinary projects that connect history to contemporary issues.

Required profile

• Strong content knowledge in history and ability to teach across all middle‑school levels.
• Commitment to fostering critical thinking, historical analysis, communication, and civic engagement.
• Experience in curricular design and integrating global perspectives.
