Java Software Engineer (Spring Boot)

About the role

White Cloak is looking for a Java Software Engineer to join its dynamic development team. You will design and build Java‑based applications and micro‑services, focusing on high‑quality code and excellent user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and micro‑services using Spring Boot.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code and create unit and integration tests.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs for system integration.
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise applications for performance and scalability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Java developer with a strong focus on Spring Boot.
• Strong grasp of Java and object‑oriented programming principles.
• Solid understanding of the Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring REST).
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational database management systems and version control (Git).
• Preferred: familiarity with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, Angular), CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and agile tools (Jira, Trello).
