International Consultant – AI‑Assisted Age‑Friendly Environment

About the role

The World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office seeks an International Consultant to support the WHO‑Kanagawa Partnership on Healthy Ageing and Non‑communicable Diseases (NCDs). The consultant will translate the AI‑assisted age‑friendly environment framework into practical, country‑relevant guidance, research questions and pilot‑ready options.

Key responsibilities

• Provide secretariat support to the WHO‑Kanagawa Partnership, including preparation of meeting materials, technical notes and follow‑up records.
• Develop concept notes, briefing notes and presentations to aid partnership planning and decision‑making.
• Assist in research prioritisation, evidence synthesis and innovation scanning related to healthy ageing and NCDs.
• Translate the AI‑assisted age‑friendly environment framework into actionable guidance and pilot‑ready options for Member States.
• Support knowledge translation activities to inform regional and country‑level actions.

Required profile

• Experience in health policy, ageing, or non‑communicable disease programmes.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence applications in public health or community settings.
• Ability to produce high‑quality technical documents, concept notes and presentations.
• Strong analytical skills for evidence synthesis and innovation scanning.
