Head of Logistics & Distribution (AVP)

About the role

The Logistics & Distribution Head (AVP) will lead the organization’s logistics, warehousing and distribution functions, ensuring efficient movement, storage and delivery of goods across all channels. This senior role drives operational excellence, cost optimisation and service reliability to support business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end logistics and distribution operations across warehouses and delivery networks.
• Ensure timely, accurate and cost‑efficient delivery of goods to stores, hubs and customers.
• Oversee transportation planning, routing, fleet coordination and last‑mile delivery performance.
• Manage warehouse and distribution centre operations to maintain smooth inventory flow and order fulfilment.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor and improve KPIs such as delivery turnaround time, inventory accuracy, fulfilment rate and logistics costs.
• Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, operational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers, freight partners and warehouse operators, negotiating contracts and service agreements.
• Collaborate with procurement, commercial, planning and operations teams to align logistics activities with business needs.
• Lead, mentor and develop the logistics and distribution team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Provide regular operational insights and recommendations to senior leadership through data analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• Extensive experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation and distribution leadership roles.
• Background in retail, pharmaceutical, 3PL, e‑commerce or large‑scale distribution operations is highly preferred.
• Proven track record managing complex logistics networks and high‑volume distribution operations.
