Geodetic Engineer – Dam & Hydropower Projects

About the role

The Geodetic Engineer will deliver precise geodetic and surveying services throughout the lifecycle of dam and hydropower infrastructure projects. This role supports engineering design, construction, safety monitoring, and environmental compliance by providing accurate data collection, mapping, and alignment verification.

Key responsibilities

• Establish baseline geodetic control points and benchmarks.
• Perform topographic, hydrographic, settlement, displacement, and tilt surveys.
• Coordinate with design teams to produce accurate base maps and stakeout design coordinates.
• Monitor excavation, fill, alignment, and provide as‑built data.
• Verify design‑construction conformance and support construction tolerances.
• Integrate geodetic data with geotechnical instruments and hydrological models.
• Report anomalies to engineering and safety teams and contribute to dam safety documentation.
• Compile, process, and store spatial data using GIS and CAD, creating terrain models, maps, and 3D renderings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geodetic Engineering or Surveying Engineering.
• PRC license or equivalent local surveyor registration.
• Experience on dam and hydropower projects.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental regulations and ethical surveying standards.

Required skills

• GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
• CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Excel for data analysis.
• Remote sensing and LIDAR technology.
• Hydrological and hydraulic model integration.
• Knowledge of FIDIC or project management tools.
• Use of surveying instruments (total stations, leveling equipment).
