General Ledger Accountant

About the role

Dole is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to ensure the integrity and accuracy of its financial records. The role supports timely, compliant financial reporting through precise journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end general ledger accounting across multiple company codes, including transaction recording and financial reporting.
• Prepare and post periodic journal entries for employee expenses and other assigned areas.
• Maintain full sets of accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies and accounting standards.
• Execute intercompany balance confirmations and assist with intercompany account reconciliations.
• Drive month‑end and year‑end closing processes for assigned entities.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, clearing aged items and resolving discrepancies.
• Perform variance analysis on GL accounts, identifying significant fluctuations and underlying drivers.
• Prepare audit schedules, provide documentation for statutory reporting, and liaise with external auditors.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to improve financial controls and reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles and accounting standards.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting month‑end/year‑end close.
• Analytical mindset with ability to investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
