Financial Controller (Remote, Freelance)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations and support the financial health of our business. This fully remote, independent‑contractor position is ideal for a hands‑on professional who can work autonomously and maintain high standards of accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks.
• Perform bank reconciliations and handle accounts payable and receivable.
• Monitor outstanding payments, support credit control, and prepare CIS and VAT returns.
• Track cash flow, assist with forecasting, and prepare financial reports for management.
• Support budgeting, audit preparation, and maintain accurate financial records and internal controls.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior finance staff.

Required profile

• Strong experience with QuickBooks and solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Proven ability to manage AP/AR, VAT, and bank reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• ACC​A or CIMA qualification preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar financial controller role.
