Comptroller

About the role

The Comptroller will lead the organization’s financial planning, reporting and risk management functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior finance professional ensures fiscal discipline, liquidity and compliance with all regulatory and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting process, develop forecasts and monitor budget versus actual performance across all financial KPIs.
• Prepare and present monthly, semi‑annual and annual financial reports and statements to the CEO, board and external stakeholders.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, including accounts receivable and payable, to maintain liquidity.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and recommend mitigation actions.
• Coordinate external audits, respond to findings and ensure timely compliance.
• Identify, assess and manage financial risks, implementing appropriate controls.
• Design and maintain a financial structure and systems tailored to organizational needs, including selection of third‑party service providers and software tools.
• Ensure adherence to internal finance and procurement guidelines as well as donor and regulatory requirements.
• Manage income tax clearance and other statutory obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance roles such as Comptroller, Finance Controller or Senior Financial Manager.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and cash‑flow management.
• Experience coordinating audits and managing compliance with accounting standards and donor regulations.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights to senior leadership.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
