Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel (FinTech background)

About the role

We are looking for a Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel to lead regulatory and legal functions for our fintech lending business in Bonifacio Global City. The role combines risk‑focused compliance oversight with hands‑on legal advisory to ensure adherence to Philippine financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update internal compliance policies aligned with BSP, AMLC, SEC and NPC requirements.
• Provide primary legal advice, draft and negotiate commercial contracts, loan agreements and privacy policies.
• Design and supervise AML and KYC frameworks, conduct CDD/EDD, monitor suspicious activity and file regulatory reports.
• Act as the main liaison for regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries, and implement updates to laws and industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance or Compliance; Philippine Bar Passer preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience in the Philippines, with at least 2 years in fintech or lending compliance.
• Deep knowledge of Philippine financial regulations, including BSP Circulars, AMLC Rules and the NPC Data Privacy Act.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of BSP Circulars, AMLC Rules and NPC Data Privacy Act.
• Hands‑on experience with AML/KYC procedures, customer due diligence and risk assessment.
• Legal drafting and contract management expertise.
