US Tax Accountant – Remote (Full‑Time Contractor)

About the role

Join our global tax team as a US Tax Accountant, working 100% remotely from the Philippines, Latin America or South Africa. You will prepare and review complex US tax returns, provide strategic tax planning, and translate dense regulations into clear, actionable guidance for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review multi‑entity returns (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120‑S) and individual returns (Form 1040) with accurate K‑1s, capital accounts, and basis calculations.
• Identify and document tax credits, elections, and apportionment issues, including §199A, R&D, and depreciation methods.
• Develop and maintain audit‑ready workpapers, checklists, and calendars to ensure timely sign‑offs and e‑filings.
• Collaborate with US‑based teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process automation and playbook improvements.
• Handle multi‑state and SALT calculations, nexus updates, and PTE/SALT cap workaround elections.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with the ability to balance depth and practicality.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex tax concepts in plain English.
• Experience thriving in busy tax seasons and maintaining robust SOPs.
• Passion for coaching, quality improvement, and incremental process automation.

Required skills

• US tax return preparation (Forms 1065, 1120, 1120‑S, 1040).
• Knowledge of §199A, R&D credits, depreciation schedules (Form 4562).
• Multi‑state and SALT tax calculations.
• Audit‑ready workpaper development and e‑filing procedures.
