US Family Law Paralegal (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support a US law firm remotely. The role focuses on matrimonial and family law matters in New York State, handling everything from divorce filings to post‑judgment enforcement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, draft, and review legal documents such as summonses, complaints, motions, affidavits, judgments of divorce, and settlement agreements.
• Assist attorneys with contested and uncontested divorce, custody, child support, spousal maintenance, and enforcement proceedings.
• Organize financial disclosure documents, including Statements of Net Worth and discovery responses.
• File documents through the NYSCEF electronic filing system and ensure compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Maintain case calendars, monitor court appearances, and coordinate scheduling with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status, document collection, and procedural matters.
• Prepare exhibits, hearing binders, trial materials, and attorney preparation packets.
• Support mediations, depositions, conferences, and trials, and conduct legal research as needed.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; Philippine JD required.
• Minimum 2 years of family law paralegal experience in New York State.
• Familiarity with New York matrimonial and family court procedures and filing requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Adobe Acrobat.
• Knowledge of the NYSCEF electronic filing system.
