US Accountant (Remote, Full‑time Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a Philippines‑based US Accountant to support fast‑growing U.S. companies and CPA firms. This full‑time independent contractor role is 100% remote and focuses on delivering clean, timely month‑end closes, accurate reporting, and clear financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close for U.S. entities, including AP/AR, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare balance sheets, P&L statements, cash‑flow statements and provide variance analysis with plain‑English commentary.
• Run payroll accurately, calculate deductions, coordinate approvals and ensure on‑time processing.
• Reconcile bank, credit‑card, merchant and loan accounts, investigate discrepancies and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Develop and standardize checklists, close calendars, SOPs and suggest automation tools to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in U.S. accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in public practice.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and a passion for creating order through SOPs and clean ledgers.
• Tech‑curious mindset with a focus on automating routine tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to translate financial data into plain English for clients.
