US Accountant – CAS, Tax Administration & Compliance (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a US Accountant specialized in Client Accounting Services (CAS), tax administration and compliance to work remotely for a US finance advisory firm. The role supports internal and external clients, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, tax readiness and regulatory compliance while communicating professionally with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly client accounting and bookkeeping projects according to supervisor instructions.
• Review and reconcile balance sheets, cash, accruals, payroll, AP/AR, credit cards and loan accounts.
• Prepare tax workpapers, collect client data, and assist in the preparation of US tax returns.
• Process tax payments, handle entity formations, dissolutions, SOS filings and other compliance tasks.
• File sales and cannabis CDTFA reports, set up client CDTFA access, and manage local tax filings.
• Communicate tax and compliance issues to managing partners and provide solutions for revenue and tax payable variances.
• Support miscellaneous projects such as tax vouchers, extensions, and partner status meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in bookkeeping, CAS, US tax compliance, or related accounting services.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Professional communication skills for client interaction and internal reporting.
