Tax Finance Manager – BIR & PEZA Specialist

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced Tax Finance Manager to join its Finance Support team in Manila. The role focuses on managing tax compliance, risk, and reporting for the bank, with a particular emphasis on BIR and PEZA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, document, and mitigate tax risks and controls in coordination with the Head of Finance.
• Prepare, review and file tax computations, returns and reports, ensuring timely payment of liabilities.
• Maintain audit trails and working papers to prevent tax penalties.
• Respond to internal tax queries, provide advice, and research tax implications of new products, contracts and legislation.
• Liaise with auditors, tax counsel and examiners, supplying required information and reports.
• Support implementation of Group compliance policies and internal control standards, including SOX requirements for Group Service Centers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on tax experience handling BIR, SEC and local government regulations, including tax examinations.
• At least 2 years of experience with PEZA/BOI incentive programs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication with finance peers and non‑finance stakeholders.
