Staff Engineer - Embedded Software

About the role

Analog Devices is looking for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to develop and optimize embedded systems for its product portfolio. The role works with cross-functional teams to design, implement and integrate hardware and software solutions, and involves architecting, developing and maintaining embedded software for diverse hardware platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead software architecture and design, integration and system testing, and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop embedded software for RTOS and bare-metal environments, including Zephyr and Linux.
• Define and run system-level test strategies and plans, and build and run test automation frameworks.
• Debug, validate and optimize code for performance, memory usage and power consumption.
• Take part in code reviews, write technical documentation, and contribute to open-source projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronics, computer science or a related field; master's preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Extensive firmware/embedded software experience and strong C/C++ skills.
• Proven experience in software architecture and design patterns.

Required skills

• Bare-metal programming, RTOS, Zephyr or Linux.
• Hardware protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and peripherals (ADC, DAC, timers, PWM, GPIO).
• Multi-core validation, unit testing, software verification and test automation.
• Python and Git; open-source contribution a plus.
• Nice to have: AI/ML, FPGA, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, GenAI tools, DSP and algorithm testing.
