Staff Engineer, Embedded Software

About the role

Analog Devices is looking for a Staff Engineer, Embedded Software to join its Software & Digital Platforms team. You will develop and optimize embedded systems that power the company's products, working with cross-functional teams to design, implement and integrate hardware and software solutions. The role covers embedded software for the company's wide product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable embedded software for various hardware platforms.
• Work with hardware engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless integration with hardware.
• Develop software for real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal environments.
• Contribute to code documentation and software user guides.
• Test and debug software thoroughly to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Optimize software for performance, memory usage and power consumption.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
• Experience with microcontroller and microprocessor software development.
• Experience with Zephyr and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as SPI, I2C and UART.
• Familiarity with Git for version control.
• Nice to have: FPGA development experience, Agile or Scrum, CI/CD practices, unit testing frameworks, and an open-source project portfolio.

The position is experienced level, requires travel about 10% of the time, and is a day shift. Export licensing review may apply for non-US citizens or permanent residents.
