Software Engineering Manager – Remote

About the role

JoyRide is looking for a technical leader who can combine deep engineering expertise with strong people‑management skills. As a Software Engineering Manager you will shape engineering practices, drive architectural decisions and help the team deliver high‑quality software in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and coach engineering teams while staying hands‑on with the codebase.
• Define and evolve architectural direction, software design and implementation standards.
• Manage multiple agile teams, improve processes and ensure consistent delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design and business stakeholders to align priorities and resolve trade‑offs.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, creativity and accountability.
• Set and track team objectives that align with company goals.
• Recruit, develop and retain top engineering talent.
• Provide technical insight for budgeting and resource allocation.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5‑7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2‑3 years in technical leadership or management.
• Proven track record of designing, developing and scaling end‑to‑end software solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication abilities.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a passion for growing people.
• Creative mindset, able to challenge conventions and drive innovative solutions.

Required skills

• Deep software engineering background and system design expertise.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Ability to make architectural decisions and guide technical direction.
