Software Engineer / Quality Test Engineer (Night Shift)

About the role

GECO Asia is seeking a Software Engineer I to join the Business Services Query and ESP QA team. The role focuses on supporting automation initiatives, AI implementation, performance testing, and overall software quality assurance for the company’s products. The position works night shifts to align with operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update automated test scripts using PowerShell, Bash/Shell, GitHub Actions, Groovy and other tools.
• Execute manual and automated test cases, analyze results and document findings.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage across applications and releases.
• Identify, investigate, document and track software defects and anomalies.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, analysts and QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support automation initiatives, AI implementation and performance testing activities.
• Recommend and implement testing tools to improve QA efficiency and maximize coverage.
• Diagnose system issues using logs, traces, dumps and diagnostic tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards and best practices.
• Ensure software releases meet quality, performance and business requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Analytics or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong analytical, research and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools and processes.
• Availability to work night shift (9 PM – 5 AM or 10 PM – 6 AM) and Philippine holidays.
