Software Engineer – .NET & SQL Server

About the role

Amex GBT, part of the American Express Global Business Travel family, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain .NET applications and SQL Server databases. The role supports travel‑related platforms and collaborates with global teams, requiring alignment with US Central business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain .NET and C# web applications, including ASP.NET/Core front‑ends.
• Write clean, documented code, participate in code reviews, and mentor peers.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, estimate effort, and communicate timelines.
• Develop and optimise SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, and ensure data integrity.
• Handle structured data formats (CSV, JSON, XML) and external feeds via FTP/SFTP, including validation and error handling.
• Investigate and resolve production data issues, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Improve application security, performance, and maintainability, leveraging AI‑assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience with C#/.NET and SQL Server development.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and version control (Git).
• Ability to work at least half of a shift overlapping US Central time zone.
