SOC Analyst

About the role

TaskUs is recruiting a SOC Analyst 1 for a client whose Security Operations Center monitors about 65,000 organizations, 2 million endpoints and 3 million users across three SOC locations. The analyst acts as the first point of triage and alert review for security events, investigates alerts, performs threat analysis, helps contain attacks and supports improved detection. The position is based at the Las Pinas office (Hiraya) and is 100% on-site, with a shifting schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate security alerts and suspicious activity from the client's security stack, third-party tools and cloud platforms.
• Correlate events across multiple tools and data sources to assess risk, business impact and remediation needs.
• Help build and maintain detection rules, use cases, playbooks and response procedures.
• Tune monitoring tools to validate events and reduce false positives.
• Prepare post-event reports, executive summaries and technical documentation.
• Stay up to date on threat intelligence, TTPs and emerging cybersecurity trends.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a SOC, incident response or cybersecurity analyst role.
• Experience investigating security events across endpoint, network and cloud platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Controls and Cyber Kill Chain.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, QRadar or LogRhythm.
• Experience with EDR solutions such as Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Carbon Black.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, authentication technologies and cloud security.
• Preferred: security certifications (e.g. Security+, CySA+, GCIH, CISSP), scripting with PowerShell, Python or KQL, and experience with Azure, AWS or GCP.
