Snowflake Developer – Modern Data Platform

About the role

The Modern Data Platform (MDP) Snowflake Developer designs, builds, and operates scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient data and analytics platforms on Snowflake. The role supports analytics, reporting, data engineering, and AI/ML use cases for organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver modern data warehouse and lakehouse solutions on Snowflake.
• Build and optimise ELT pipelines and data models using strong SQL.
• Define reference architectures, reusable patterns, and design artefacts.
• Implement security‑by‑design using roles, least‑privilege, data masking, and governance controls.
• Perform query performance tuning, warehouse sizing, resource monitoring, and create runbooks for stable operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, explain design trade‑offs, and provide coaching and knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• 6–9 years of data and analytics experience, including 3–5 years delivering Snowflake platforms.
• Proven ability to design and deliver modern data solutions on Snowflake.
• Strong delivery, solution design, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with operational excellence and performance optimisation.

Required skills

• Snowflake platform architecture and capabilities.
• SQL and data modelling.
• Snowpipe, streams, and tasks for data ingestion and orchestration.
• Data security, identity & access management, governance, and cost optimisation.
• SnowPro Core certification (required) and SnowPro Advanced (optional).
• dbt certification (desirable) and relevant cloud platform certifications.
