Senior Tax Advisor

About the role

The Senior Tax Advisor will provide expert tax advisory and consulting services to ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws while optimizing tax‑efficient positions for the organization. The role supports local, corporate and cross‑border transactions and aligns with the company’s international tax strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor changes in Philippine tax legislation and prepare executive summaries for periodic updates.
• Assist the Tax Manager in developing and implementing tax‑efficient strategies that support overall business goals.
• Manage day‑to‑day tax advisory activities, including cross‑border transactions, transfer‑pricing documentation and double‑tax treaty applications.
• Prepare protest letters and represent the company during tax audits or mappings conducted by LGUs.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate internal and external tax exposures.
• Research and resolve complex tax treatments for specific transactions.
• Liaise with legal counsel, external tax advisors and auditors to address intricate tax issues.
• Support the tax compliance team with registrations and related legwork.
• Provide high‑level review of transactions and contracts, and confirm tax treatment for business units.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience with Philippine taxation.
• Preferably experience with a Big 4 audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of taxation for FinTech companies or financial institutions.
• Experience dealing with the BIR or LGUs on tax audits/inspections.
• Excellent planning, organization, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
