Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our fast‑growing finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will lead month‑end close activities, mentor junior staff, and support tax compliance across U.S. jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily review and prioritization for a team of two staff accountants, ensuring controls and close timelines are met.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, flux analyses and variance commentary.
• Synthesize large data sets into clear, well‑supported financial summaries for leadership.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements, focusing on standardization and automation.
• Coordinate with internal and external resources to address U.S. federal, state, and local tax inquiries and notices.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP applied to month‑end close and reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, comfortable with datasets >100,000 rows, complex formulas and pivot tables.
• Experience in a mid‑ to large‑size operating business (approximately $100M+ revenue).
• Exposure to ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, NetSuite, or similar.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; tax experience (income, sales, use) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
