Senior Supervisor – Production

About the role

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Supervisor to lead start‑up, pilot, and development production activities. You will ensure a seamless transition from New Product Introduction (NPI) to high‑volume manufacturing while meeting safety, quality, and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily start‑up operations, including pilot runs, engineering builds, and validation lots.
• Verify readiness of the 4M elements (Man, Machine, Method, Material) before line start‑up.
• Supervise line conditions during the start‑up phase and support the shift to volume production.
• Define and plan manpower based on forecasted ramp volume, cycle time, and takt time.
• Develop and maintain manpower loading models and shift schedules.
• Identify skill gaps, provide training, and build a multi‑skilled workforce.
• Optimize manpower utilization for flexibility and efficiency during ramp‑up.
• Monitor daily output, line balance, and operator performance; react to process abnormalities.
• Enforce standard work, updated instructions, and EHS compliance.
• Assess risks related to new equipment, temporary setups, and new materials or processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising production start‑up and ramp‑up activities.
• Strong ability to plan and allocate manpower resources.
• Solid understanding of safety, quality, and delivery standards.
• Effective trainer with the capability to develop multi‑skill operators.
• Problem‑solving mindset in a fast‑changing development environment.
