Senior Steel Reinforcement Estimator – Remote (Australia)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Steel Reinforcement Estimator to join our Australian client’s team on a 100% remote basis. The role involves interpreting complex structural drawings, performing accurate material takeoffs, and preparing commercial tenders for reinforced concrete projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precise material quantity takeoffs for structural steel reinforcement, rebar, and trench mesh using digital takeoff software.
• Interpret structural drawings, architectural plans, and reinforcement schedules.
• Utilise AutoCAD and Revit models to verify dimensions and extract material data.
• Compile cost estimates, evaluate supplier quotations, conduct risk analysis, and produce structured commercial proposals.
• Identify discrepancies in plans and issue Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Maintain databases for material pricing, labour units, and manufacturing timelines.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, technical specialists, and external suppliers via virtual meetings.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience estimating steel‑reinforced concrete systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international steel construction codes.
• Excellent written and spoken English for stakeholder communication.

Required skills

• Bluebeam Revu or Planswift for digital takeoffs.
• AutoCAD for drafting review.
• Revit for BIM model analysis.
