Senior SEO Consultant – Link Building & Citations

About the role

We are a Sydney‑based digital marketing agency serving clients in solar, renewable energy, manufacturing and professional services. As SEO expands, we need a senior specialist to own the most critical element – link acquisition and citation building – across multiple accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute end‑to‑end backlink acquisition strategies for all client accounts.
• Build, audit and maintain citation profiles for local‑SEO clients.
• Run guest‑post campaigns, including prospecting, vetting sites, negotiating placements and managing content.
• Leverage existing link‑building networks, marketplaces and vendor relationships to secure high‑quality links.
• Evaluate link opportunities using traffic, relevance, authority metrics and spam signals.
• Document repeatable workflows to scale the process as the client base grows.
• Track and report on referring‑domain growth, ranking impact and overall link performance.
• Collaborate with the content team on anchor‑text strategy and linkable assets.
• Stay updated on Google algorithm changes and link‑scheme guidelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on link‑building experience with strong overall SEO knowledge.
• Proven success acquiring quality backlinks at scale, preferably for Australian websites.
• Established relationships with link vendors, guest‑post networks or publishers.
• Documented, repeatable prospecting and outreach process.
• Ability to identify risky links before they cause issues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Ahrefs or equivalent SEO tool for prospecting and monitoring.
• Expertise in link acquisition, outreach and quality control.
• Experience with citation building and local‑SEO fundamentals.
