Senior Retail Architect

About the role

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of retail projects. You will be responsible for managing technical aspects of complex tasks, ensuring they meet financial, quality, schedule and health‑and‑safety objectives while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage delivery of large‑scale retail projects in line with Arcadis management systems.
• Coordinate and lead single‑discipline design teams and technicians.
• Review and quality‑assure work of other staff to meet client briefs and national standards.
• Develop and propose innovative solutions that exceed client expectations.
• Allocate work, monitor resource utilisation and oversee operational workload.
• Collaborate with other sectors to resolve complex technical issues and ensure design integrity.
• Mentor junior team members and support their professional development.
• Identify and drive process improvements for quality and efficiency.
• Develop and review budgets for scope elements of projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior‑level architectural roles on retail projects.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work within health‑and‑safety frameworks and adhere to Arcadis behavioural standards.
• Excellent communication skills for internal stakeholder engagement.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
