Senior Protection Officer – Philippines (National Only)

About the role

Nonviolent Peaceforce is seeking a Senior Protection Officer to lead Unarmed Civilian Protection activities under the UNFPA‑funded BABAE Project in Cotabato City. The position is open to Philippine nationals and focuses on safeguarding civilians and strengthening local peace structures in the SGAs and BARMM regions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor protection interventions in line with Unarmed Civilian Protection principles.
• Coordinate with the Project Coordinator and programme implementation team to ensure effective delivery of the BABAE Project.
• Engage with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organisations to promote civilian safety.
• Collect, analyse, and report protection data to inform programme adjustments.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to field staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Philippine national (mandatory).
• Senior‑level experience in protection, human rights, or related fields.
• Proven experience in programme or project management, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of the security context in SGAs and BARMM.
