Senior Office Assistant – Museum Research & Exhibitions

About the role

The UP Manila Museum of a History of Ideas is looking for a Senior Office Assistant to support its exhibition and research activities. This position combines administrative duties with hands‑on involvement in museum projects, research, and visitor engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on collections, artifacts, historical events, and cultural heritage.
• Develop exhibition concepts, themes, narratives, and curatorial frameworks.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate temporary, permanent, and traveling exhibitions.
• Prepare exhibition texts, labels, catalogues, educational materials, and related publications.
• Collaborate with museum officers, designers, educators, and external partners.
• Oversee preparation, production, installation, and de‑installation of exhibitions.
• Produce research papers, reports, and publications related to collections and exhibitions.
• Assist in acquisition and interpretation of collection materials and conduct museum tours when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Philippine Arts, Art Studies, History, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Philippine history, arts, culture, and heritage.
• Strong communication skills in English and Filipino.
• Ability to work collaboratively with museum professionals and partners.
• Willingness to conduct field research, museum tours, and other assigned duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
