Senior GCP Cloud Architect – SAP

About the role

We are looking for a Senior GCP Cloud Architect with deep SAP expertise to lead Application Managed Services for SAP landscapes on Google Cloud Platform. The role focuses on steady‑state operations, performance optimisation, cost control and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own architecture governance for SAP systems under AMS and ensure SLA/SLO/KPI compliance.
• Provide L3/L4 support for critical SAP incidents, lead root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Manage SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA and BTP integrations, including system refreshes, client copies and transport routes.
• Administer Compute Engine resources, design storage and backup strategies, and manage VPC, load balancing and Cloud Operations Suite monitoring.
• Apply FinOps cost‑optimisation techniques such as rightsizing, committed use discounts and idle resource cleanup.
• Optimise SAP HANA performance, implement HA/DR drills and maintain backup and business continuity plans.
• Drive incident, problem, change and release management in line with ITSM processes.
• Introduce automation with Terraform and scripts, enhance self‑healing mechanisms and continuously improve runbooks.
• Ensure security and compliance through IAM, encryption, key management, audit logging and vulnerability management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing, operating and optimising SAP workloads on Google Cloud.
• Strong background in AMS governance, SLA management and incident leadership.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and vendors in a complex cloud environment.
