Senior Electrical Engineer - Offshore Engineering

About the role

Fyfe, an Australian multidisciplinary consultancy, is expanding its offshore engineering capability and is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Manila. Reporting to a Team Leader or Project Manager, the role combines hands-on electrical engineering with project ownership, client support and team development, covering the project lifecycle from feasibility and concept design through detailed design, commissioning and site support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering workstreams on complex projects, keeping scope, schedule and technical quality under control
• Deliver and review electrical, instrumentation and controls designs, calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and supporting documentation
• Coordinate engineers, designers and drafters to produce integrated, practical and compliant outcomes
• Guide clients, contractors and vendors through technical matters, design reviews, workshops, commissioning and project support
• Mentor engineers and graduate engineers with clear technical direction and quality feedback
• Strengthen electrical engineering standards, safe working practices and best-practice delivery

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• Post-graduate engineering experience in power, renewables, resources, transport, mining, oil and gas or industrial infrastructure
• Experience in areas such as power and electrification, E&I, controls, substations, primary systems, earthing, protection, SCADA, renewable energy or hazardous-area design
• Ability to prepare and review compliant engineering deliverables with design software and technical tools
• Knowledge of engineering codes, Australian Standards, international standards and client requirements
• Strong coordination skills and clear written and verbal communication
• Capability to mentor or lead engineers and graduate engineers in a safety-focused culture
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or full Australian working rights; agency applications not accepted
