Senior DevOps Engineer – IT Operations (Financial Markets)

About the role

ING is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support and evolve its Financial Markets Transaction Reporting platform. The role combines operational support of critical systems with the delivery of automation, observability and platform stability in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take end‑to‑end ownership of production and non‑production platforms, including upgrades, patching and decommissioning.
• Provide expert‑level application and platform support and act as senior escalation point for incidents.
• Collaborate with SaaS vendors to ensure stable operations and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Design, implement and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, observability and platform resilience.
• Analyze and resolve data‑quality issues related to regulatory transaction reporting.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant DevOps experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong understanding of Agile/DevOps practices and ability to mentor team members.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of complex technical problems.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience writing SQL queries.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and pipeline automation.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native, containerised platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with microservices architectures and SaaS integrations.
