Senior Design Manager – Building Services

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead multi‑disciplinary building services design on complex projects. You will coordinate teams across Manila, Perth and other locations, ensuring design quality, safety and client satisfaction from concept through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall direction and coordination of the design team, meeting scope, quality, time and commercial targets.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics, vertical transportation and other disciplines into coherent, buildable solutions.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring expectations and statutory requirements are met.
• Oversee technical governance, quality assurance, innovation and ESG considerations.
• Lead commercial management, risk mitigation and budget control.
• Develop and mentor team members, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in building design and delivery within consulting engineering, architecture or construction.
• Proven track record as Design Manager, Lead Engineer or Discipline Lead on medium to large, complex projects (e.g., health, commercial, education, transport, defence, industrial).
• Strong understanding of multi‑disciplinary building services with a core background in mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics or structural engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (relevant discipline) or Architecture/Building Design.
