Senior Design Engineer (Road and Infrastructure)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead civil, road and infrastructure design activities for our projects in the Philippines. You will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality design deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for civil, road and infrastructure design and design review for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with design, construction management and project control teams to align design deliverables with construction sequencing and programme requirements.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of Design Engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Prepare, review and approve technical correspondence, reports and submissions related to road, infrastructure, geotechnical and pavement design.
• Design highways, interchanges, local roads, drainage systems, earthworks, ground improvement, slope stability and related geotechnical works.
• Design and assess civil and structural elements such as foundations, retaining structures, culverts, bridges and ancillary structures using reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel.
• Ensure compliance with SMEC standards, British Standards, ASTM, AASHTO and Philippine codes.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and government authorities to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Review and endorse design reports, calculations, drawings and tender specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in road and infrastructure design.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers.
• Strong knowledge of design standards and codes applicable to roads, highways and public infrastructure.
