Senior Consultant – Financial Services

About the role

The Senior Consultant – Financial Services will support banks, insurers, asset managers, payment providers and investment firms by delivering risk, compliance and advisory services. You will work closely with clients to assess risks, strengthen controls and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Mazars’ client relationships, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and coordinating cross‑departmental offerings.
• Develop and deepen knowledge of clients’ regulatory and compliance obligations.
• Lead assignments covering regulatory submissions, investigations, corporate governance, compliance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Report to senior leadership and contribute to departmental goals and targets.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Act as an ambassador for firm, department and practice development and marketing initiatives.
• Manage and mentor junior team members.
• Write regulatory articles for publication on the Mazars website.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in risk and compliance consulting within financial services.
• Good understanding of regulatory areas such as PSD, Consumer Protection Code, Investor Protection and Fitness & Probity.
• Knowledge of current challenges and developments in the banking industry.
• Experience supervising assignments and managing client relationships.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
