Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Bridgit, a non-bank lender serving Australian property buyers, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer. Engineers own their solutions end-to-end, from design and scoping through coding, deployment, testing and documentation, and help shape system architecture and technical requirements. The role works closely with onshore and offshore teams in the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day backend engineering and provide hands-on guidance to the engineering landscape.
• Apply proven backend knowledge and adopt new AI tools as the company grows.
• Lead AWS infrastructure management, including CDK infrastructure scripting.
• Lead new infrastructure and security initiatives and grow the scale-up environment.
• Collaborate with the onshore and offshore team in the Philippines in a continuous-deployment pace.

Required profile

• 5+ years as a backend developer.
• 2+ years with Node.js.
• Commercial experience with Node.js, TypeScript and AWS infrastructure.
• Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail in documentation and ticket descriptions, and outstanding communication skills.
