Senior Architectural Technician (NZ Architecture)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join our offshore team and support New Zealand‑based projects. Working under a NZ Senior Architect, you will produce consent‑ready drawing sets and ensure compliance with local documentation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up project digital environment: Revit model, file structure, drawing registers, sheet and view templates.
• Confirm regulatory framework and technical parameters with the Senior Architect.
• Provide technical input on feasibility, constructability and code constraints during concept and preliminary design.
• Develop Revit models, construction details, schedules and draft documentation for building consent applications.
• Run model federation and clash detection in Navisworks, resolve clashes and coordinate with consultants.
• Lead production of Building Consent documentation, author specifications using Masterspec and support council RFIs.
• Update construction documentation in response to RFIs, site instructions and contractor shop drawings.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire and specialist consultants to resolve interface issues.

Required profile

• Proven track record delivering architectural documentation for the New Zealand market.
• Ability to work independently within a distributed, remote team.
• Strong understanding of NZ building consent processes and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with senior architects and multidisciplinary consultants.

Required skills

• Revit (modeling, view templates, schedules).
• Navisworks (model federation, clash detection).
• Masterspec for specification authoring.
• Building consent documentation preparation.
• Knowledge of New Zealand building code and district plan limits.
• Construction detailing and coordination of consultant inputs.
