Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

The Rothenbury Group is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to manage AP activities for a portfolio of Canadian businesses. This remote position, based in Manila, requires handling high‑volume invoice processing, vendor account maintenance, and month‑end financial reporting while ensuring compliance with Canadian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, supporting documentation, and proper authorization.
• Assign invoices to the correct company, GL account, department, cost centre, reporting period, and tax code.
• Match invoices to purchase orders, contracts, work orders, or service records.
• Enter and process invoices in the accounting system and prepare payment batches.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, duplicate charges, and unusual activity before payment.
• Maintain accurate vendor‑account records and support month‑end close activities.
• Ensure compliance with HST requirements and Canadian regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven full‑cycle accounts payable experience, preferably supporting Canadian companies.
• Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and manage complex AP responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle a high volume of financial information accurately.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
