SAP Basis Administrator

About the role

The SAP Basis Administrator ensures that SAP applications run smoothly by managing the middleware layer between the operating system, database, and SAP modules. You will be responsible for maintaining multiple SAP instances across development, test, training, and production environments, guaranteeing high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain SAP development, test, training, and production instances.
• Manage the SAP Correction and Transport System (CTS) to promote configuration and development objects correctly.
• Introduce technical changes using a structured, low‑risk methodology.
• Design and optimise SAP system configuration for performance and availability.
• Install, configure and administer SAP database and application servers.
• Handle SAP user administration, authorisations, profiles and printing subsystem.
• Distribute and monitor online and background job workloads.
• Perform SAP performance tuning, system monitoring and log analysis.
• Administer the underlying database: upgrades, backups, security, performance and storage management.
• Execute SAP client administration tasks (create, copy, delete, export/import).
• Participate in SAP system upgrades, hot package and kernel migrations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and provide status reports to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field.
• At least 2.5 years of hands‑on experience in SAP Basis administration.
• SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA 2.0 (SPS05) or equivalent certification.
• Strong understanding of business process analysis and IT service management.
