Safety Officer

About the role

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a proactive Safety Officer to lead health and safety initiatives across its operations in the Philippines. You will ensure compliance with local labor laws and international best practices while fostering a culture of safety among employees, contractors, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and programmes aligned with Philippine regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, produce detailed reports and drive root‑cause corrective measures.
• Deliver safety training, inductions and awareness programmes for all staff and contractors.
• Monitor compliance through audits and ensure adherence to established safety standards.
• Maintain accurate safety records, statistics and prepare management reports.
• Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and recognition programmes.
• Coordinate with external agencies, regulatory bodies and emergency services as required.

Required profile

• Certification as a Safety Officer or equivalent (OSHC, IOSH or similar preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in construction, logistics or warehouse settings.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine Occupational Safety and Health standards and related labor legislation.
• Excellent communication and training abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
